Global Dignity Day

“The spirit of Ubuntu is very difficult to render into Western language. It speaks of the very essence of being human. You are generous, caring and compassionate. It means that my humanity is bound up in yours,” and embodies the ideas of community, connection, caring and kindness.”

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

On Global Dignity Day, everyone, everywhere is invited to look beyond what divides us and recognize the dignity and humanity we share.

Global Dignity Day is held on the third Wednesday of October, with additional events happening throughout the month of October.

“Global Dignity’s efforts to inspire young people to lead a more dignified life depends on the amazing volunteers we work with around the world. They not only inspire and engage the next generation, but for each of us that get involved, it is also a life-changing and amazingly uplifting experience. If you dream of creating a better future in your community, I encourage you to join our Global Dignity family, wherever you live.”
